Github Authentication

To use the DocDriven Code Assistant, you need to authenticate with your GitHub account. This authentication grants the necessary permissions for the Assistant to access your repositories, read code examples, follow templates, and commit generated code.

Steps to Authenticate

  1. Open the Code Assistant: Navigate to the Assistant interface.
  2. Initiate GitHub Connection: You will see a prompt stating "DocDriven needs access to your GitHub repositories to provide code assistance." Click the "Continue" button.
  3. Log In to GitHub: You will be redirected to GitHub. If not logged in, enter your GitHub username and password.
  4. Authorize DocDriven: Review the permissions required and click the "Authorize" button on the GitHub authorization page.
  5. Confirmation: After authorizing, you will be redirected back to the DocDriven Code Assistant interface with a success confirmation.
